Bonnie and David’s Izenstone summer wedding was possibly one of the most laid back weddings ever! After their legal wedding day in April, I knew that this day was going to be beautiful and I couldn’t wait to see them again to celebrate!! Bonnie and David have truly rolled with the punches when it came to planning their wedding in the pandemic. And, I’m honored I was able to be a part of this special day because these two deserved nothing less than a magical summer wedding day!
When I arrived, I heard a bunch of whooping and hollering. So, I figured that the guys had already arrived and were having fun! After saying hello to Bonnie, I told her I would check on the guys and she was surprised because they weren’t supposed to arrive yet! Turns out, all the noise I heard had been coming from the bride and her ladies, ha!! I knew at that moment I was going to be in for an super fun day.
Izenstone Summer Wedding
Although Bonnie and David have been married for about four months now, it didn’t change the atmosphere of their summer wedding celebration at Izenstone. David was just as excited to see his bride in her dress just like they weren’t married. Seriously, it was beautiful to watch the two of them be together. It was really hot during the day (thanks, Alabama weather!) but we worked quickly and made their wedding portraits a lot of fun. The newlyweds couldn’t stop looking at each other and kissing. It was seriously such a perfect day!!!
Honestly though, the special moments didn’t stop there. Their daughter was literally the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. All day long, she said it was “her” wedding day! Photographing her looking at her mom’s dress was SO special to me! What a classic moment they’ll hopefully treasure for years to come!!! These are the emotion-filled moments I love documenting for my couples!
Summer Wedding Celebration
After all of the sweet and romantic moments of the afternoon, it was time to party! Bonnie and David had a lot of fun planning the reception. Because David is a big LSU fan, they had a groom’s cake inspired by LSU for the celebration. Bonnie is an Alabama fan… and I bet you know where this is going. She told him that she had the inside of the cake made crimson!! Luckily, she didn’t – it was filled with plain vanilla cake. Bonnie narrowly avoided having crimson cake smashed in her face!!
Bonnie and David, your day was LITERALLY perfect!!! I couldn’t stop smiling with you both. This was a truly special day to celebrate with you both! Congratulations, again!
