Melissa and Jeff’s Fairhope AL wedding day at St. Francis was so romantic and down-to-earth, focusing on their family. We’re so happy we were able to be a part of their intimate wedding day and capture these special memories for them. The newlyweds planned most of their wedding day themselves, working close with friends and family to bring their day to life.
The Couple & Proposal
Melissa and Jeff told us their story isn’t exactly a straight line! The two broke up twice before getting engaged, but as the saying goes… third time’s the charm!! Despite the crazy curveballs life was throwing them, the two managed to stay together and enjoy the life they were beginning to build. Although Jeff had grand plans for a Valentine’s Day proposal, the two got engaged in November 2016 as life began to get hectic again for them both! What is it they say about the best laid plans? It didn’t matter- his proposal turned out pretty awesome, if you ask us!
Jeff went to a car show with Melissa’s uncle and had just gotten back from the trip. The two were enjoying a night grilling. Although Melissa knew her ring was coming (and it arrived while Jeff was gone!), she had no idea what his plans would be. But she anxiously waited for the special moment. Jeff took one look at the ring and decided to propose right there to her! With the glow of the firelight in their own backyard, Melissa couldn’t imagine anything more special!
St. Francis at the Point Wedding
Melissa and Jeff’s wedding day was so sweet and personal! They kept their day small and intimate, which made it even more special for them to tie the knot. Keeping the day traditional, Melissa and Jeff did not share a first look before walking down the aisle at St. Francis at the Point here in Fairhope, AL. Jeff’s reaction to Melissa was amazing – these two are meant for each other!! Following their gorgeous ceremony, we took some time to capture portraits of the two of them. This has to be one of my favorite parts of a wedding day!!! We spent time with the gorgeous car they had for the day – it was such a fun addition to their portraits!
After their portraits, it was time to party the night away with their family and friends! An open-air reception was the right way to end the night. Filled with gorgeous black and white details, their guests were able to enjoy the night celebrating Melissa and Jeff’s wedding! Congratulations to you both! We are so happy we could be there to capture your big day – it was absolutely perfect!
